Finally, finally! I am uploading a picture of my Wiksten Skirt that I sewed – maybe - three months ago! I have been wearing and wearing it and it surely is one of my all time favorite skirts ever. The pattern is designed by Jenny Gordy of Wikstenmade. It’s from last year’s Stitch Magazine available here. I sewed it in a heavy weight denim which comes with it’s challenges. The button holes were especially tricky and after even bringing it to a tailor (who failed on sewing them correctly) i tried and tried and finally conquered. I will post a little general tutorial on how to sew buttonholes with heavy weight thread in a short while because I haven’t been able to find good pointers on the net so far. Easy to make, lovely to sew and fits really well! Also easily customizable – I omitted the sash and added belt loops so I can wear with any belt I chose. Highly recommend it!
This guy is actually the second rendition of the skirt. I made one earlier with the sash for my Mom when she was visiting in February. Her’s i made in a stretchy denim. I lengthened the pattern pieces for the sash several inches and topstitched the ties with evenly spaced rows for added ruggedness.

Hey I know that skirt and is ROCKS!
