A new japanese pattern book

I got this new Japanese sewing book the other week. I have no idea what the title is – if anybody out there is actually able to read Japanese and could translate it – I’d be soooo greatful. Nonchalant sweet clothes – stylishly fun best times – Thanks Liz for helping me out :) ! ISBN978-4-579-11300-2. I love so many things about this book: There are pant and short patterns in it, a parka silhouette, a couple of jackets and beautiful tops. I already made the striped top (third picture below) but didn’t pre-wash the fabric. I’ll post about it soon.

  • I just ordered the same book off of eBay. I LOVE the jackets in this book.

  • Me too! There are at least two I want to make. Just have to decide which one I’ll be tackling first.

  • i don’t have this book, but i was paging through it last month.

i think the title is close to “nonchalant sweet clothes” with the subtitle “stylishly fun best items.”
if you were to write it out in romanji, it would be ‘sarigenai amai fuku: kikonashi o tanoshimu besto aitemu.”

i’m looking forward to see what you make! although i live in japan, i am just getting ready to start sewing from japan books.

  • Oh, Liz! Thank you so much – Nonchanlant sweet clothes! What fitting title. I love the japanese sewing books. they are the Best! I have learned so much from them. I see you run a business/website for crafters who love to work with japanese books. I love it! I am sure to stay in touch!

  • hi girls
    and Angela
i wanted to know how to you find this book on ebay?

  • Hi Lena, hopefully Angela can answer that question because I haven’t been able to even google it. Here the ISBN number. I hope it helps: ISBN978-4-579-11300-2

  • thanks-i found it
now another q.-do this have patterns drawings?

  • Yes, they do, Lena. Like most of the books I have the instructions and drawings are all in the back, the second part of the book. And all are obviously self explanatory. I also just got this link: http://movinghands.wordpress.com/japanese-sewing-and-pattern-terms/ which hopefully helps with some of the translations if at all in need of any. I’d love to see what you are making!
